Ten-Year Survivorship and Patient-Reported Outcomes in Patients 40 and Over Following Primary Hip Arthroscopy for Femoro-Acetabular Impingement: A Propensity-Matched Analysis with a Benchmark Control Group

For the first time, American Hip Institute presents its research study demonstrating the long-term benefits of their arthroscopic technique to preserve the hip, and avoid hip replacement, even in patients over 40 years old. In this study presented at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), a vast majority of patients' hips were still going strong over 10 years after their hip arthroscopy! American Hip Institute has a core mission of curing joint pain and arthritis. The preventative hip arthroscopy procedures performed at American Hip Institute have accomplished this goal for thousands of patients around the world. If you are over 40 and have hip pain, the American Hip Institute arthroscopic procedure may help you avoid a hip replacement and get your life back.

Patients Undergoing Primary Hip Arthroscopy with Previous Lumbar Spine Surgery Achieve Favorable Mid-Term Results

Many patients who have undergone spine surgery later discover that, in addition to a spine problem, they also have a hip problem. Spine and hip problems can produce pain in similar areas, and it is difficult for a patient to tell if pain is coming from the spine, the hip, or both. In this groundbreaking study from American Hip Institute presented at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), researchers found that in patients with continued hip pain after previous spine surgery, arthroscopic surgery of the hip helped a vast majority of patients get their lives back. If you have had spine surgery, and have continued pain in the hip area, you may be a candidate for the American Hip Institute arthroscopic procedure.

Long Term Survivorship and Outcomes of Non-Dysplastic Patients Undergoing Capsular Repair During Primary Hip Arthroscopy for Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome

Over a decade ago, the American Hip Institute developed the technique for hip arthroscopy with repair of the capsule for patients with femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). Now, for the first time, the researchers at American Hip Institute Research Foundation have revealed the long term results of this procedure in a study presented at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM). The study showed that over 90% of patients' hips are still going strong, more than 10 years after their procedure. American Hip Institute has a core mission of curing joint pain and arthritis. The preventative hip arthroscopy procedures performed at American Hip Institute have accomplished this goal for thousands of patients around the world. If you suffer from hip pain and want to get your life back, you may be a candidate for the American Hip Institute procedure.

Elite Female Athletes Demonstrate Comparable Improvement in Midterm Patient-Reported Outcome Scores and Rate of Return to Sport Compared to Elite Male Athletes After Hip Arthroscopy

On the heels of International Women's Day, many elite female athletes suffering from hip pain are asking if they will ever be able to return to their sport. The American Hip Institute has created a procedure that is specific to women's hips, and have recently revealed the astonishing success of the procedure in a study presented at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM). This study showed that a vast majority of elite female athletes who underwent the American Hip Institute hip arthroscopy procedure successfully returned to the sport they love. If you are a woman suffering from hip pain and want to get your life back, you may be a candidate for the American Hip Institute procedure.

Study on labral management in patients over 40 years old undergoing primary hip arthroscopy

The study on Labral management in patients over 40 years old following primary primary Hip Arthroscopy

Another great publication by the AHI team of providers! This study on labral management in patients over 40 years old undergoing primary hip arthroscopy demonstrates that the labral reconstruction is a valuable alternative in patients over 40 with irreparable labra. Labral repair is still our preferred option in the setting of a reparable labrum.

Congratulations to the American Hip Institute providers this week at American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine! There has been a paucity of literature evaluating the outcomes of elite female athletes undergoing hip preservation surgery.

Congratulations to the AHI providers this week at AOSSM! There has been a paucity of literature evaluating the outcomes of elite female athletes undergoing hip preservation surgery.

The study "Patient Reported Outcome Scores and Rate of Return to Sport After Hip Arthroscopic Surgery: A Sex-Based Comparison in Professional and Collegiate Athletes" showed that elite female athletes undergoing hip arthroscopy demonstrated favorable outcomes and a high rate of return to sport. Female athletes also demonstrated greater improvement in outcome scores compared to a control group of elite male athletes.
